“ We went with a party of 6 on a Saturday evening and were pleasantly surprised to be seated quickly. The place was humming with the sound of customers but not unpleasantly so. The food was excellent, the Charro bean soup brought as an appetizer was really tasty. I had the chalupas and couldn't finish them (and I have a big appetite). They were very good and I'd definitely recommend them. Everyone in our party was pleased with their food. Overall this was a great experience and we will definitely be back. ”
“ Right when you want in the door you are warmly greeted and sat pretty quickly. The service is always great even when they are busy. The food and drinks are amazing. They truly have something for everyone. They have a fun playground outside with a really relaxing patio with lights. I do wish the game room was up and working more often but I'm sure it's hard to up keep those machines with how many people frequent there. ”
“ Good margaritas, friendly service and delicious Mexican dinners. Seating options include al fresco on the patio, a lively bar area or indoor tables. Puffy tacos, a San Antonio tradition, are done nicely here - perfectly puffy taco shells, loaded with hearty picadillo filling, arrived hot and upright on a stainless steel taco stand that kept everything from spilling out. I'm usually a fan of breaded and fried cheese chile rellenos, but the grilled Cristina's version stuffed with jalapeño chicken filling was a nice change-up. This location is a little easier to get into on a Friday night than the original location in Helotes. ”
“ First time visiting this location & it's LOVELY!! Plenty of parking in their private lot (overflow for on a side gravel piece too-good for big trucks!) tried the tortilla soup and a chalupa on the side. The rest of the party had different plates. Everyone ordered margaritas and it was a good time!!! Consistent & yummy food, good service. The place is really large with outdoor and indoor seating as well as seating around a large bar. Very nice and would def come back again! ”
“ The first time we visited el chaparral was 16 years ago! We were disappointed when they closed! But they are back, the food was delicious this new location is beautiful and the staff is very kind our waitress was so kind and attentive 5 stars all the way!!! ”
“ GF and I don't visit Boerne too often. Not exactly sure why but we just go elsewhere. Charming downtown with fun (also expensive) shopping and people watching. While the available restaurants are good it's lacking a good Tex-Mex option. I also do have to point out that too many restaurants are closing in Boerne. I follow My San Antonio and local closings are staggering. Now, some good news on a recent trip. We were looking at trucks at the local "motor mile" and stumbled onto El Chaparral. Restaurants aren't always on Main Street folks. We found El Chaparral by taking backroads to visit car dealerships. Praise for their tenure in the town we sat down for lunch on the first visit. Chips and salsa starts your experience. Then, bean soup! The most flavorful borracho/charro beans in all of Texas. Did Lupe Tortilla steal this? The server explained we had the option to sub them on an entree instead of refried or similar less seasoned "charro beans". WHY???? Those beans are perfect! As I said two visits. First entree was my requisite shrimp enchiladas. Can't remember when I've had the dish paired with a sour cream sauce. Shrimp were well seasoned with grilled onion. Sauce was too heavy on the sour cream and zero seasoning. Next visit I went with a taco salad. This is my second go to and again found issues with the dish. Shredded chicken was tasty; artful presentation with the toppings. But, tortilla bowl is not hot. Cold in fact. No crispy love there which makes the dish an indulgence for me. I'll be back for the beans. ”
“ The complimentary bean soup is delicious! I got Valerie's special for my entree which comes with a cheese enchilada and a portion of beef or chicken fajitas. I decided to substitute a spinach enchilada instead of the cheese enchilada and I chose beef for my fajitas. The beef fajitas were delicious and fresh. The enchilada was not bad but it wasn't anything special. ”
“ Finally had time to stop by the new location in Boerne. The restaurant is very spacious with traditional Mexican decor and plenty of parking. Was greeted immediately with no wait time. The complimentary chips and salsa was flavorful and spicy. The shrimp poblano was absolutely wonderful hitting savory, spicy, and fresh flavors. Paired with charro beans, avacado, lettuce, tomato, and the coastal rice was interesting yet tasty. The shoestring fries with the steak was unexpected but strongly complimented the dish. The steak was cooked perfectly and so moist. Definitely, coming back to try more of their La Casa dishes. ”
“ Awesome restaurant. This is our second time coming here, and it's as good as it was the first time. Great choices in alimentation and dietary restrictions; (tons of GF options, which is perfect for me)! Our server was so sweet and she was really helpful, quick, friendly, and all! We sat outside and the ambiance was really calm and relaxed, lots of wind, which was nice, but in case of too much heat, there were fans there ready to go! The food was delicious, and very well priced and prepared! (The tortilla soup was to die for). Will definitely be back for a 3rd time, and highly recommend if you're in the Boerne area and in the mood for good Mexican food! ”
